The 2017 Kia Forte Earns TOP SAFETY PICK+ Designation from Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS)

When it comes to choosing a new Kia vehicle, one of the items at the top of almost anyone’s list is Safety. Here at Kia of Wilmington, we’re proud to be able to announce that the impressive and handsome 2017 Kia Forte is more than dashing good looks and charm—it’s also incredibly safe. So much so, that the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has just awarded it the top safety designation possible through that organization, the TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) rating (for models built after March 2017), when the 2017 Kia Forte is equipped with optional front crash prevention and high intensity discharge (HID) headlights with Dynamic Bending Lights. Check out the link above to learn more about how the 2017 Kia Forte earned such a high rating.

Earning a TSP+ designation is no small beans, as the IIHS requires that each vehicle receive a “good” rating in the following categories: small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side impact, roof strength, and head restraints. Additionally, the vehicle must also earn “advanced” or “superior” ratings in front crash prevention and “acceptable” or “good” in the headlight testing. So, in short, there are a lot of hurdles to clear, and the 2017 Kia Forte passed with flying colors.

“Kia Forte is one of our most popular and best-selling vehicles,” said Orth Hedrick, vice president, Product Planning KMA. “The new distinction of TSP+ rating from the highly-respected IIHS reconfirms the high priority we place on safety for our customers and why Forte remains a favorite in the compact sedan class.” —from a July 20, 2017
