Kia has rebranded some of their vehicles over the last few years to keep them fresh and competitive. Even the Kia logo itself was revised in 2021 to give it a more modern look. Vehicles such as the Kia Sedona and Kia Optima were completely renamed to Kia Carnival and Kia K5, respectively. However, the names weren't the only changes made to these vehicles. The Carnival has a boxier, more SUV-like shape than the Sedona, while the K5 is longer, lower, and wider than the Optima. Kia of Wilmington is proud to offer both vehicles at our dealership, and we're eager to tell you more about them.

Kia Carnival (formerly Kia Sedona)

The new Kia Carnival is a spacious minivan that seats up to eight passengers. It's an ideal family vehicle with a handsome, feature-filled interior. West Chester, PA drivers will appreciate its easy-to-clean cabin materials and roomy seats. The Carnival comes standard with cloth seats, but synthetic or genuine leather upholstery is available. There's plenty of room for the kids' toys or sports gear in the Carnival, which has over 145 cubic feet of cargo space.

You'll enjoy a calm, composed ride in the new Kia Carnival, thanks to its well-tuned front strut and multi-link rear suspension. It also handles well for its size, with responsive steering and firm brakes. You can even pull a small boat to Echo Lake in Newark with the Carnival, which can tow up to 3,500 pounds when properly equipped. It earns good gas mileage for its class, returning 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.

There are tons of handy standard tech features in the new Kia Carnival, including its user-friendly infotainment system. Salem, NJ drivers will like the available in-vehicle intercom for talking to passengers in the back. Standard amenities in the new Carnival include:

  • An 8-inch touch screen
  • Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capability
  • Driver-attention monitoring

Kia K5 (formerly Kia Optima)

The new Kia K5 is a stylish midsize sedan with a low-slung fastback shape. As you might expect, the K5's design enables it to have a healthy, 16 cubic feet of cargo space. Its sophisticated cabin has plastic trim in base models, but higher trims have wood inlays, leatherette upholstery, and a flat-bottom steering wheel. There's ample room to relax in the K5's well-bolstered seats, including over 46 inches of front legroom.

You can easily keep up with highway traffic in Elkton, MD with the new Kia K5. It comes standard with a turbocharged 180-horsepower four-cylinder engine, but a 290-horsepower turbo-four motor is available. Front-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission come standard, but all-wheel drive and an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic are available. The K5 also rides smoothly on pavement, especially in models with the standard 17-inch wheels.

It’s a cinch to run the K5's UVO infotainment system while you're on-the-go in Wilmington, DE. Standard voice recognition lets you control most functions hands-free, so you can focus on steering. The system's well-organized menu layout, intuitive interface, sharp graphics, and quick response times make it one of the better units on the market.
